Summary:

Alex Trenton, the ranch hand staying on to keep Hawkins’ Farms operational since the owner’s death, has loved Karen from the moment they met twenty years earlier. Karen’s emotions stir to life as she finds herself pulled to this handsome woman working the ranch. A phone call shortly after her arrival reveals her parent’s desire to sell the land so rich with memories and traditions. Karen, loyal to her grandfather and his land, insists upon the ability to out bid the eager buyer and eventually is able to procure the farm. Though, she quickly realizes the buyer’s pursuit has only just begun. Dan Williams is determined to own the farm regardless of the laws he must break to do so. With the help of friends and eventually even a couple of familiar federal agents, Karen and Alex fight to stay alive and preserve a simple way of life as well as her grandfather’s well-guarded secret, that he was in fact a U. S. Marshal. Hawkins’ Farm was, for his entire career, a safe house for witnesses awaiting relocation arrangements. Successful in their ability to thwart Dan Williams’ aggressions, Karen is finally able to find peace with her life as she and Alex accept their love for one another and resume her grandfather’s post as protectors for the innocent.
